Love your Baby
It's time to get back to basics:
Begin by showing your kids or grandkids that they are loved, cherished and are important. Let them know that you love them just they way they are and so does God. Show them respect and teach them to respect others.
Encourage kids to talk about anything and everything. From peer pressure, friends and even problems at school. Don't offer advise unless he or she asks for it and Please don't offer "when I was a kid". It's better to listen, than to speak.
Slow down. Read kid friendly stories (no violence), such as those in the Bible. Play a board game that is fun, challenging and educational.
Turn on to their creativity. Choose kid friendly crafts or choose a recipe that he or she can help you with. Sure, the child may be a small person, but they sure can help measure something, for the recipe. There are also kid friendly crafts that you both can make, for them to give as gifts.
Read to them. Most libraries have children's books that are age appropriate.
Share some history with them. Tell what life was like before remotes, computers, ipods and game boys.
Remember-It's not quantity time-it's quality time, that your kids will remember.
